Portugal is susceptible to cyber attacks and has no law ... - TeK.sapo

The survey was conducted from a simulation of a spam attack, sending 60,000 e-mails unsolicited. The addresses that received messages have been obtained from public sources.

The results showed ease in overcoming almost all protective barriers and warning. Half of those who opened the messages were false business users in private companies, 25% state employees 25% ee other private users.

The test was performed using two e-mail messages focused on current affairs, the municipal and Snowden case, while a third announced a new Viagra.

“SPAM, alone, is not the main cause of damage, but the vehicle so that the greatest impact of attacks happen – the SPAM is the thief who is at the door, “says Francisco Rente, CEO Dognaedis.

The research is authored by Dognaedis, a spin-off of the University of Coimbra, which details the findings this afternoon at InfoSec Week, an event organized by ShadowSec, which falls within the European cybersecurity month.
