The invention comes from the United States and allows monitoring of the body temperature in simple and effective. The highly efficient thermometer was developed at the University of Illinois.

The project led by scientist John Rogers is a kind of sticker or tattoo to be applied on the body can measure the temperature.

The picture opposite shows that technology has reduced in size and resembles an electronic circuit, such as those we see in computers, for example.

The result of the investigation that resulted in the prototype was published in the journal “Nature”. Cited by Agence France Presse researchers reveal that the system is “as precise as the infrared cameras more sophisticated.”

According to Discovery News website, the device is extremely thin and is designed to be applied to the skin with a water-soluble glue. At this time Illinois team has developed two versions that run differently, yet allow the same to accurately determine the temperature at various points of the skin. The next step is to develop a version that dispenses a source of external power to operate.
