Curiosity NASA probe led to the discovery that the Martian soil consists of about 2% water, which gives hope to moisturize humans one day explore the red planet, scientists announced today.

“We saw Mars as a very dry desert and although this is not the amount of water found in the soil of the earth (…) is substantial,” said Laurie Leshin today, the lead author of the study published in Science .

According to the same scientist at 0.03 cubic meters of Martian soil, which roughly corresponds to a block with one foot in width, height and depth, you can get 0.47 liters of water.
